THE COFFEE HOUSE ((( SOCIAL - ROOM ))) / Re: Big Lies
« Last post by Kathyp on Today at 11:45:02 pm »
Just a couple of things:  I think most of us believed that we should have been out of Afghanistan years ago.  Bomb the crap out of the Taliban and go home.  Leaving was not the issue.  HOW we left was the issue.  Not only did we leave our native allies to die, but we did not let our European partners in on the plan.  You have no idea how angry that made many in Europe even if they were mostly quiet about it.  We also have no idea who we brought into the country because we just flew off with whoever got on a plane.  We can hope that doesn't come back to bite us.  Meanwhile, we have people still in country trying to keep the promise our government made to those who helped us.

I am not an isolationist.  I think that there can be good reasons for intervention.  They need to be good reasons for us though, not just because we don't like what someone else is doing.  Pre-the WWs, we didn't have NATO.  It was easy for Germany to take one country after another because by the time Europeans organized to fight, it was almost too late.  There was no large scale agreement to support each other and no training to work together.  Honestly, if Hitler had not turned toward Russia, we'd be looking at a very different Europe than exists now.  He got stupid and the world got lucky.

While I agree that it is generally bad policy to allow one country to bully others, it is also bad policy to mess around with the response.  IF we are going to commit to something, we should do it full scale and be done with it.  Proxy wars never end well for us.  Policing the world can only be done if we are going to support what it takes to fund the police force.  It seems we have made a different decision about what we want to do and so leadership is going to go to whichever country is serious about fielding a competent military.

While we drain Russia, we also drain ourselves.  Who is not wasting time and money?  China.  Russia might be a bit of a threat, but a world dominated by China is far more the threat and we are supporting that domination.

Ps the video.  Tucker carlson is a russian supporter in this for sure and if this is what you watch, I can see why you have your views.

This is what your chosen sources tell you but it is not true.  In fact, his position on this is about the same as mine.  You might try forming your own opinions rather than parroting what the leftists feed you.

Regardless, the video has nothing to do with Russia.  This interview was done with Hunters business partner before the election.  Much more has come out since, but I thought this a good starting point.  Watch it or not.  Makes no difference to me.

Your post not counting your last one.  I do understand the position of letting the world take care of themselves and we will take care of ours.  I do find it funny that a whole bunch that say that say we should have left troops in Afghanistan which seem pretty situational compared to the point above.

If the view is let the world take care of its self then there is no need to use any reason true or made up to make that position.

I figure the US position is that a weakened russia is in americans interest and it is not a real case of ukraine winning or losing so much but more that putin did it to himself and the more resources he expends, the weaker he will be for some time to come.

I am pretty sure this is true regardless of any thing pertaining to biden in any way.

Many people felt the same way as far as isolationist goes, prior to world war 1 and 2.  To the victor goes the spoils though and the winners say that those wars were just and we do not know what would have been if we stayed out cause that did not happen.  Most historians say after the fact, that america prospered due to the outcome of those wars.

Myself, I was more taken back by the caution that was being put out during our support cause their might be repercussions if we helped too much and I was thinking that was saying we have to let russia win.

My real opinion is that the US probably figures that letting this drag out a bit keeps all sides of the war from being too powerful and keeps them wasting resources and that keeps us on top.

Now I admit that mine is just opinion based on my belief that our gov is doing what makes it more powerful more then based on what is right but i think it is right also cause russia did not have to move all those troops from one side of the border to the other.  I hope ukraine wins for different reasons then the government is probably involved there for.  I do not think  some laptop has much to do with any of this.
Cheers

I am not a huge fan of posting videos because I know people don't have time to watch them, but this one is worth a watch if you have time and have not seen it.  it is a great starting point in untangling the Biden crime syndicate.  I used this site because it has the long interview and youtube is making it difficult to access the same interview.

Just checked the hives in the home yard.

There is some honey to take - soon.

I have never seen so many SHB.

I use the common Bettleblaster traps with DE and they work for me.
They work so well that some are full to near the top. At this point the DE is no effective anymore and i have changed some of the traps.

More rain is on the way and i hope take some honey off after.

Check your hives for SHB!!

How could I not know your position of this stuff as you have relied on over and over in many of your post on this site.  If it is such a, not a secret, then your unsupported claim that it is a factor of ukraine blackmailing biden is why he has to support them and spend money would have no merit cause it is not a secret.  If they are blackmailing him and that is the reason we support ukraine, how does that explaine the republican votes of support?  If the goal of the unsupported allegations is smoke and mirrors to justify support for russia, at least that would make some sense though it would not make it true that it was the reason but maybe better for the person saying it then having nothing.  Some may not know what is going on and take it at face value.  I doubt most are supporting the war effort cause of blackmail of biden and it is not a good excuse for what is happening.  So everyone is in on it including all the republicans?

Ah, now I understand the confusion.  I am positing a theory that makes some sense if you understand what Hunter and Joe have been doing.  We do know what they have been up to.  We can see Joes actions.  Knowing what Hunter has done and that Joe benefitted, the theory makes more sense than just that Joe is in love with Ukraine and China for no reason.

As for congress, as I pointed out, there are plenty on both sides that enjoy war for one reason or another.

We impeached Trump twice with no evidence and one of the things he was after with Ukraine was the evidence that the FBI was hiding on Hunters laptop.  The Russian collusion thing the FBI knew was a Hillary paid-for lie right after Trump was elected.
Even so, they used it illegally to get warrants to spy on Trump and those who worked for/with him.

We have a number of things possibly going on.  We have Joe in debt to both Ukraine and China.  We have a rogue FBI that needs to be cleaned out.  We have press and social media that will do anything to cover for Uncle Joe, and they have.  All of these things make sense as a part of the picture and since we have both whistleblowers and Hunters laptop, much of it is not speculation.

You may put the puzzle together in a different way, but in the realm of possibilities, mine has to be near the top given the behaviors of the players.

I guess the above quote made with out proof is why the republicans voted the way they did?

We have the laptop and the emails. In fact, we have far more proof of what Hunter and Daddy did than anything the dems ever provided for the impeachment of Trump.

I guess I am not sure of your point.  The FBI hid the laptop and whistleblowers have come forward to confirm that.  The press and social media lied about it and hid the info even as some outlets were trying to get the info out to the public before the election.  Biden and his family are corrupt and always have been.  It's not a secret.  We know Biden threatened to withhold funds from Ukraine unless the prosecutor investigating the company that was paying Hunter millions, was fired.  He bragged about it.  One of Hunters former business partners (a democrat) linked Joe to the money and the graft.  Hunter was doing business in China, sleeping with a Chinese spy, and making oil deals with them, among other things.  Ever wonder why Joe sent part of OUR strategic oil reserve to China?

Where have you been that you do not know this stuff?  You need some better info sources.

When I say most republicans except a few fringe show support, I mean that they supported the funding and did so because they believe it is in Americas interest.  You saying you can see no reason to support with funds means you do support Russia's position because it is the funds that gave Ukraine a chance.   It does not matter how you parse it, you either want russia to win with few of their resources used or you don't.  Apparently for now the majority of republicans are not on the side of russia and the proof is in their actions.  If china supports russia, is it in americans interest to let it be a strong russia rather then a weakened one?  All I can say is when somebody says I support, actions mean more then words cause it can be said in two ways and one has meaning and one is just diversion.

A lot of people over the years in both parties have never met a war they didn't like.  I don't support Russia and their aggressions, but that does not mean I think we need to spend our tax dollars supporting a war effort that is not in our interest.  I don't think I can be more clear in what I am saying.  If you want us to be the worlds police then we need to spend the money on our military and its equipment and stop funding things like Obamacare, 3 meals a day in schools, expanded Medicaid, expanded SNAP,  etc.  You can't have it all unless you just want us to continue printing and borrowing money.  There's a reason the European countries can't meet their NATO obligations.

What happens when China goes after Taiwan?  Are we to step into that one also?  How about all the various aggressions in the Middle East?  My position is that unless there is a clear advantage or threat to the US we should not be expending material or money on it.  If you want to take the position that we should be involved in all these things, then we need to make choices.  We need a smaller government and less welfare, with the money spent on our military and ordinance.  The able-bodied can sink or swim on their own and states can figure out their own welfare systems.
I'll also point out that Biden seems bent on provoking Russia.  Now that Russia has declared part of Ukraine as Russian territory, what do you see happening when that territory is attacked?  How far are you really willing to go with all of this?  who do you think blew up the pipeline and why?

Guess you can't lose iddee.  If it is not there and they open it up and you don't see it you can stay 90 percent sure they are hiding it.  Yes, I get it.

"I guess the above quote made with out proof ""

Yes, when we are 90% sure the proof is there, but kept hidden, we vote against those hiding it. If it's not there, why don't they open up and prove us wrong?
