Title: Jericho - Enemy at the gate
Post by: Jerrymac on February 13, 2008, 05:40:04 am
I was thinking as I watched the show last night that IF the USA was attacked by other countries everyone would be united. There wouldn't be a sudden devision and rise of separate governments. And who is going to just sit and watch as your countries flag is taken down and replaced by another with out asking questions?

Anyone else get the feeling of a con game being played out by this army guy?

And if this was really happening, Texas would not be joining anyone. Texas would be a sovereign nation and once again known as The Republic of Texas.

i liked it.  looks like a trip to tx is at hand.  some mystery and intrigue.  it is kind of fun not knowing who the bad guys are.

If you go to this web page you find all the episodes of the first season. In episode 18 you are introduced to a bald guy with a cane. This is Thomas Valente. He is with the homeland security, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office.

In episode 22 this girl Heather is found injured and is taken to an army camp. She ask for help to protect Jericho from Newberg, but the army is too busy until this Valente has discovered that "a terrorist" (Robert Hawkins) has been found with in 200 miles of there and sends the army to Jericho.

Watch episode 18 and 22 and you will see that Thomas Valente is the puppet master. (the bad guy)

So after watching the second show of the second season all I can say is....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ufa-q7DcWM&feature=related

The video has nothing to do with it so you don't have to watch, just listen. (No political statement on my part)

The lacal military shift at the end was interest - never trust a man in a suit they say. I think Jericho is NOW at the hands of the USA (Unified States of America) who are most likely the next threat to Jericho's existance. Lucky Rob has the Bomb - huh?

Not bad season, a turn from last - but they had pretty much worn the local combat a satisfying end - although we ALL were hoping for the FINAL BATTLE to finish from last season.

Hope it WOWS us.

Like I said. That Valnte guy is pulling the strings. He sent Ravenwood to Jericho

I don't thing the commander of the army is a bad guy, he is just misdirected. He will probably see the light and change sides.

I'm wondering if the NEXT stand (against the Unified States and the Eastern States) will take place in Jericho - I'm always looking for the cliff-hanger and it does seem like the Commander (after his replacal) may be a bit more FLEXIBLE to the needs of the Citizens.

Like you say Jerry, I don't think he's bad - just doing his job, but not good enough for those behind the curtains pulling the real strings.

I'm optomistic about a good season - the real proof is if it makes it through to season 3.

i finally watched it.  now i have to watch last nights.  interesting direction.  one thing that caught my attention:  the military, along with all elected officials, take an oath to protect and defend the constitution, not the country or government.  if there is a president and leadership still operating under the constitution, military personnel should be there, not supporting a new government and new constitution.  don't know that this means anything to the show......
