I try to find humor in everything.  Except maybe rocks, they are just not very funny.

Handy as a pocket on a shirt.

Skinning a squirrel fast is good, doing it with out leaving any hairs on is even better.

Notes on mules ? off mule is away from the driver. Near (neigh) is closet to the driver.  Gee-right; Haw-left; Whoa-stop; Get-up-go forward.

Like a dog guarding a bone tree.

Mean as a Doberman in a junk yard.

Change directions faster than a greyhound with six legs.

More fun than watching a fight at a flea market.

You are so hot.  Hot as a June bug on the hood of a 57 Chevy. In July.

Slick as a wet catfish.

Lick sweat from a rental bowling shoe.

Sharp a #2 pencil on the first day of school.

See through that like a glass bikini.

It's a "southernism".  My grandpa (who used to plow with mules) used to have a lot of sayings... like:

"I'm so hungry my stomach thinks my throat's been cut"
While sitting on a bench and almost falling off "Ain't no cantle on this saddle"
"He's all hat and no cattle"
"If you haven?t fallen off a horse?then you haven?t been ridin' long enough."
"If wishes were dishes we'd all eat on china plates"
"since heck was a pup"
"finer'n frog hair"
"When he said jump we asked how far on the way up..."
"slow as molasses in January"
"just because a cat has kittens in the oven doesn't make 'em biscuits..."

Here is a dinner prayer that our parish priest said at our house before dinner:

I used to have a friend in the Navy that said this all the time but he added in "and a horse thief" after scholar.
