honey supers--drawn, foundation, or mixed?
« on: May 27, 2008, 08:24:26 pm »
I have some drawn comb for honey supers.  Beyond that I have to use foundation.  So, do I want to place one super of foundation on hive with drawn super on top of that?  Or is it better to mix drawn and foundation in the same super?  What have you found to work best?

It does not work well to mix drawn comb and foundation.  They often draw the drawn comb out deeper and ignore the foundation and you end up with combs so fat that you can't remove them.  Put the drawn comb together and the foundation together.

Thank you, I will.  I appreciate all your good advice whether given to me or to others.  Thanks again.
