Title: Steven's Bees
Post by: chrissv on February 02, 2011, 08:18:18 pm
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let everyone know that I have a bee-blog. Do a search for "Steven's Bees" on blogspot and you'll find it (since I am a new forum member, I'll ask an admin to append the url to this message)

This is my 2nd winter (starting my 3rd year) as a backyard beekeeper, and I welcome comments and advice on the "old timers!"

Cheers,

Site looks good.   My wife likes the bee wallpaper on the sides.

Site looks good.   My wife likes the bee wallpaper on the sides.

I looked at a bunch of the "free wallpaper" sites to find a good bee-themed one, and found that one.

Cool looking elevated stand. What size boards are you using? I'm thinking of doing something similar, getting them off the concrete blocks...

They are just pressure treated 2x4's.

One thing which I didn't do (and should have) is sink the legs far into the dirt. There isn't anything keeping the stand there except the weight of the beehives. So a good push...

I'm planning on fixing that problem this spring.

Thanks,

    Steven

Great picture of the framing Steven. It looked like it was sunk in the ground, that's what I'm going to do. Looks very sturdy...
