Guard bees

Just noticed these bees always sit at the entrance of the hive wondering around. As others bees come in and out. Is this normal.

Cool it just seemed as though they are eating something off the board the way they walk around.

Sure is normal they are like bouncers and check out who wants to come inside the Hive,they will accept outside if they submit and or have pollen or nectar.

Hive,they will accept outside if they submit and or have pollen or nectar.
Also, in heavy flows couriers come to the door and you may even see guards
being fed.
