A friend been,has a small amount of chalkbrood chalkbrood. He called me an asked if I had heard of using banana on top bar,no I've not.
Have anyone used this approach ?

yes banana skins or try half a cup of apple cider vinegar pour over the frames

Chalkbrood will go away on its own. The cause is chilled brood. If you use the banana it will go away. If you don't use the banana it will go away. If you pour apple cider vinegar on it, it will go away. If you don't it will go away... though the vinegar may actually help some. The acid will kill the chalkbrood spores which can only germinate at between 6.0 and 7.0 ph...

Thanks, MB. This particular hive was a starter nuc. from Ga. . it's the only hive that has developed this was really concerned me, even though their not my bee's
