Title: Propolis in Oz?
Post by: chorrylan on October 02, 2016, 08:07:49 am
Is there a market for Propolis here in Australia?
Is anyone collecting and selling it?
If so.. to whom?

Quite a few retailers seem to be selling propolis mats but a google search looking for someone to sell it to is much less productive

check with your local herbalist.  i sell mine to them. they use it in tenurs. you may have to figure a fair price for it. I know it goes retail for about 4.00 us dollars for a half ounch if cleaned and graded.

There is a market for it here, but it's hard to compete with the cheap Asian import product. How many hives are you running with propolis mats.?

I don't have any prop mats yet.. I'm curious and trying to decide if it makes sense to do so.

I think it's just individual variation - I have two hives side by side and one produces much more propolis than the other.
