Title: cutting wood

What tools do you like to use in cutting into a wooden wall, skillsaw, sawsall, multimaster, etc.?

But I prefer sheetrock to wood.

In my years of electrical renovation, variable speed sawsall w blade matched to the job wins hands down.

It depends on the situation.  A skill saw with a careful depth adjustment, an 8 tooth carbide tipped blade (and goggles of course) and you can cut up the middle of a stud.  Some situations are just screaming for a saws-all...

and you can cut up the middle of a stud. 

   Yes!  It saves the homeowner some money when you center the cut on the studs. the repairman can just cut new sheetrock to fit, tape, mud and paint..
   I have seen some horrendous messes created by supposed removal "experts".  Some of us take a little pride in what we do..   Watch JP some time, he doesnt typically chop random holes in peoples houses.
     I have a small battery powered rotory (skill) saw I have modified so I can get right up against another wall, then the sawsall to cut across.  Makes for a neat impressive job.
