Hi every one,

I've been interested in hobby bee keeping for a while and have been doing a lot of reading lately.

My main aim is to just have fun and make enough honey to share with family and friends.

I'm based in Western Sydney and have a big yard. With spring approaching, what suppliers do you recommend that I buy my hive components ( boxes frames etc) and nuc to start with?

This is my intended box setup (feedback appreciated):
2 full depth broad boxes with a Queen excluder on top, with a half depth super on top of that. 1 swarm. I'll add the super once 6 or 7 frames are filled. 10 frame set up

Thanks in advanced and looking to learn and share my experiences with you all!

Ash

Hey G'day Ash... you a Dragons supporter?

Your feedback?
Get two Lang fulldepth, set one up with at least six frames and a space blocker.
By end of October you will be able to split that into a second colony.
Leave it at that for this year, getting ready for a busy 2018 adding supers.
Forget the mediums/Ideals... trouble lies down that path.

Wecome fella.. and enjoy! ;-)
