SISU

Hi Folks,

Lousy day here. Stopped by the library. Picked up DVD SISU.

Blend of John Wick (squared), Raiders of the lost Arc, Rambo/Rocky.....

OK. WWII, Nazis in Finland. *Scorched earth* retreat. Finnish soldier, disillusioned, lost everything....., leaves society, prospecting for gold, finds gold (actually, Lesgold's thread prompted this).

Shoestring budget. Filmed in Lapland. SIXTY year old star. He has no dialogue (almost). Nazis have bad language. It is in English.

In one scene, Aatami (main character), splashes gasoline on himself to thwart his scent to German dogs. The dogs are not fully impressed. He sets himself on fire and jumps into a lake, nazis in pursuit. Dogs kept their distance. He stays submerged. Commander Klink sends two guys into the lake to find him/his body. Aatami slashes their throats and sucks the air out of their cut throats.

The mine field scene is remarkable (a good one).

I'm not linking trailers. The trailers have bad nazi language (but it's in English).

If you get the dvd, watch the specials. The acting is actually great.  Some of the antics are a bit... uh,... out there.

OK. This vid has no bad language....

The Scotsman's review is more colorful.
