Actually the active hive i think is the weakest out of the 3, less bees going to and from the hive during the day but in saying that it seems to be the last hive to stop working for the day. This hive the bees really don't like drawing out the comb, even when fed. I thought I would have to carry it through winter. The queen in this hive was purchsed from a different supplier last year when I did a split from my uncles hive. I was going to replace her this year. My other 2 hives are packages from last year they are quite strong, well they were before winter, hard to tell now. The hive that were only using one side didn't seem so focused on that edge today. It has me completely stuffed on spotting the ones with nectar. I think they are getting 4 different types of pollen at the moment which is good. I want them to be strong because I plan to do a split on the 2 strongest hives this year.
