There is a new bee association in the state of Pennsylvania called the "Pennsylvania Backyard Beekeepers Association". It is a state wide association open to all beekeepers. The association is home-based in Pennsylvania, but beekeepers in the surrounding region are encouraged to join. It is structured for the backyard beekeeper with support and educational high quality social events.

This is a new website and association. We are still in "working" stages, starting at the ground floor and building up. So we encourage membership and want to hear of ideas, suggestions, comments, and from those willing to get involved in a worthwhile program.

UPDATE:

Before  we even hold our first meeting or get together, we have over 45 members from 11 different counties in Pennsylvania.

We will be holding a round table discussion with an outline of the program and plans moving forward, at the annual summer picnic July 31, 2010.

Whether you are interested in the Pennsylvania Backyard Beekeepers Association or not, all are welcome to attend the annual picnic.

Just ended the 2011 year with 350 members in PennApic. We have supportive members all the way to California. (Some of them from this website) Thank you to all!
