Title: Helping a new bee hive a package and need help!!
Post by: annette on May 06, 2012, 10:56:05 pm
Usually I always hang the queen cage from the top of a frame, but this time I want to try something different.

What do you all think about the idea of hanging the queen cage on the frame with rubber bands holding it in place?? This would be a frame with only starter strips on top. The queen cage would rest on the bottom of the frame.

Just want to make sure I am doing this ok.

Thanks for any help

Annette

When requeening, I know some just slide the cage in the hive on the bottom board with the screen side up.   That way they can just slide it back out with a hive tool to check to see if the queen has been released without opening the hive.   I know others have placed the cage on top of the frames.   It is all good.
