Fixed the wide comb
« on: May 03, 2019, 08:41:17 pm »

Went in both my hives today. Fixed that wide comb that was in question. I just cut it off. They were already drawing out under it as well. At first I wasn?t seeing any eggs or at least I thought. But they are there just a lot smaller than I thought haha. All laying on there side. I think I read here that was a sign that they are two days old?  I also didn?t realize that pollen would be the different colors that it was. The nuc hive is doing well. Lots of capped brood. Watched couple new bees emerging. It should really take off next week. Just not as many bees in it as the package hive. Also didn?t wear my gloves and no stings. Saw a few beetles not many. Killed what I could. Installed a beetle blaster in both. Should be no reason to go back in the package hive for a while. What two weeks I guess?

Keep your comb. I didn?t realize how fast it accumulates with all the cutouts and cross combing - I?m gonna make candles once my lavender blooms
Looks great!
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Then all else falls in line
It?s up to me

Nock,
Looking good.
Eggs laying down on their side is 3 days old.
Straight up is one day old.
Leaning over a little is 2 days old.

Thanks. So that means she probably got out of cage Tuesday then. I went in Wednesday and she was out.
