Have never been to New York so maybe folks here who have can tell me - What is the difference in a cotton picking minute and a New York minute?
-
A New York minute is about 10 seconds at most and probably less. A "cotton pick'n minute" is exactly the same as a "G** d***" minute or a "gosh darn" minute" or a "freaking minute" or "a minute". It's 60 seconds.

Makes a good bit of sense, have learned that a New York minute is over fast, quick and in a hurry and a cotton pickin' minute is much longer. Since I have picked a bit of cotton I understand because a couple of the longest day in my life were mid-September in south Alabama picking cotton.

OTH, a California minute is anywhere between "stylishly late" to "Hey, why is everyone leaving already? I just got here!"
