Just completed setting up a trap out.
A swarm moved into an old oak tree about 12? up.
Apparently it took them a long time to find this tree. The owner was stung a couple of times and the next store neighbor?s dog was stung a few times.
I was expecting them to be very aggressive. Hence the suit in the first picture.

Here is the final picture.

Very cool what was the time frame on the trap out,
-
Did they not have brood yet? Otherwise it is next to impossible to get the queen and nurse bees out.
-
I expect this to take about 3 to 4 weeks. They have been there about 10 days so it may be less. I put a frame of brood with lots of eggs and very young larvae in it and shook another frame of bees off of another frame of brood.
I wish I could get this queen but the bees are probably already making a new queen in the Nuc. When the hive runs out of food, the queen and the last of the bees will probably just abscond the hive. Then I will seal it up.
