During the course of the evening, we were discussing miscellaneous beek issues and I related how my main hive has no eggs that I could see. I am not alone so I feel better about that.
I agree, it's good to have some confirmation that it's just dearth related.

Last night was honey extracting lessons at beekeeping class. There wasn't much new to me so I pretty much sat back and stayed out of everyone else's way. They had two nearly identical extractors that they said were made in Italy. Both were nine frame, radial extractors but one was motorized and the other hand crank. I'm pretty lazy so I can see one of the motorized ones coming my way before next summer. Geez, I didn't know what I was missing here. I still love me a good Clint Eastwood movie and also never heard of Call me Trinity. Years ago when TNT and TBS were things, Thanksgiving was Clint Eastwood day and I'd park in front of the TV for as much of it as I could.

Getting snagged is part of the program and they all stock gobs of hooks for a reason. One other trick to my trade is...no sinkers. It does limit casting abilities but when floating the stream, it reduces snags. You just have to find stretches of creeks where snagging is minimized and don't go down as far as where the snags occur.

One time I was fishing with a know-it-all fisherman who 'taught' me all about what sinker to use and where to place it. He shore fished off of a peninsula and I went upstream and waded out onto a rock and fished the flow. I was literally fishing right in front of him and quickly nabbed three nice rainbow trout and had them on a stringer. Since I pulled them upstream to me, he didn't even know it was happening. He came waddling up after a while with a, "No fish, eh?" LOL

Not surprised you haven't seen it. Sadly, it is an often overlooked piece of cinematic genius, elevating the spaghetti western to more of a sloppy lasagna..
You'd probably hate it.

best watched with plenty of beer and the occasional shot of Jagermeister or Fireball, popcorn optional.

or real men can go straight for the tequila, beer optional

Cast and retrieve or get in the middle of the water flow on a creek and let the current pull the bait out as far as the creek allows without getting snagged.
"Without getting snagged" is the key.  Snagging is really common in our river.  It seems worse this year too for some reason; I have lost more hooks to snags this year than any other summer.  There seems to be more branches and sticks in a lot of places.  We did have a pretty significant flood not last year but the year before, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Don?t take up fly fishing. It?s just as addictive as beekeeping. Heaps of fun flicking off flies, hooking up with trees and long grass and occasionally a nice trout.
But Les, you make it sound like so much fun!  :cheesy:

AHEM .. original?
1964 .. A Fistfull of Dollars

Oh, dang, you're right.  :embarassed:  I guess what I was thinking was, the original spaghetti western soundtrack (although obviously the first two had soundtracks too).  I'm not a super big fan of all three of the "Dollars" movies honestly.  I appreciate what they did for cinema and westerns specifically, but they are losing their charm with age, imo.

but ... then in 1970 .... elevated to a true art form with ... They Call Me Trinity :cheesy:

I've never seen that one.

The next step was to prepare the reverse side of the silicone mould. The foundation was lifted off the MDF base and the glue was removed. This turned out to be a pain as the plumbers silicone stuck too well to the foundation and needed to be pulled out in minute pieces to clear the foundation cells. The foundation needed to be turned over due to the offset of the hexagonal cell shapes on each side. Two spacers were temporarily positioned to help align the foundation in the correct place. The foundation was then glued and weights were applied to hold the foundation hard down on the MDF base. This will be left overnight to dry.
