What?s your follow up after the cutout? I assume you don?t move them right away?
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Then all else falls in line
It?s up to me

With these I do them about half hour before sun set, caged the queen and let them settle after cut out. Then pick them up when dark. Every one in couple lost forager tomorrow but heavy rain today so these girls came home last night at 2130 with me.

JT,
Congratulations.
Being as you are pretty close to the I-4 corridor, I recommend you get a European queen and replace the queen. Africanized bees prefer to build their hives in the ground, European bees prefer to build in voids above ground. When they are small, they quite often are nice and calm. They can seriously change when they get larger.

I am with you and Jim on the in ground bees. I have not seen in-ground bees here either. Yellow Jackets 🐝 are another case and a tough one! Congratulations jtcmedic on your cutout and wise decision to replace the queen 👸....  Phillip
