In missouri close to St Louis
« on: April 12, 2006, 11:21:24 am »
I am located in House Springs,Mo.  A couple of years ago my wife and I purchased a home with six acres. Finally this year I got her where she does not think I am completely crazy for getting chickens.  Now to move on.  I would like to get a few hives (only one to start) of bees as I have my insanity to protect.  Is there any places around St Louis, Mo. for equipment?  I don't mind making the hives(in fact I would enjoy it) but I not sure I understood the plans I saw.  Also a little unsure the exact pieces needed at start (a brood, top, and then later a super?}.  Any members close ? Oh I work overnight so please forgive errors as I am very tired as usual this time of the day.

There are plenty of mail order places, but there are also some retail outlets.  I don't know for sure where they are from you.  Seems like Dadant is in Hamilton, Illinois.

As to what to buy, I have my own opinions on that and they are at great odds with what the starter kits contain.
