I put a marshmellow in the hole in the queen cage how long will the bees take to eat it out?

I usually leave them alone for 3 days give or take a day. then I check the cage, if she's out take the cage and close it up. if not then I poke a hole in the candy.  most of the time the marshmallow is gone. Candy seems to be tougher to get through.
After she is out of the cage wait at  a week, then look for eggs.

Anywhere from overnight to 3 days or so.
