My swarm trap is teeming with activity here this afternoon. Hopefully, this is move-in day. It's pretty warm out, I'd guess high 70s with a light breeze. Bees seem to be coming in waves of 12 or so and going in, some come back out but it looks like a lot are staying inside. Maybe it's wishful thinking. Either way, activity is pretty much non-stop right now and I set up my GoPro to document it just in case.

No I don?t. Not sure how the gold coloured lids would go. I normally use gold lids for honey but the contrast wouldn?t be there even if they could be engraved. I?ll try one to see how it goes.

Les,
Do you have any of the flat brass canning jar lids to do a test on? It would bee great if I could engrave them.

I went out for a peek and didn't see any ants but the front door is blocked with bees.
Interesting. What are your temps like? I am just wondering if they are hot or cold. Or maybe they are blocking an intruder.
It looks like it was about 86 yesterday, about 75 when I took that picture and down to about 62 last night. That group was mostly gone with a few stragglers still out by 0500 when I got up this morning

This garbage of immunity for governmental overreach needs to be stopped.

You could probably sell those on fleabay and even make a little more with a custom design.

Had a quick 5 minute play with the engraver. Reduced power output and added a some simple text. Will need to play with the design a bit but the result was much better on the inside of the lid. A simple jig to hold lids in place would only take a few minutes to make. A dozen lids could be quickly dropped into position and the engraver could do its thing. It would take about 21 minutes to make a dozen lids using the simple design attached.

Hi Folks,

Some people just can't stand to see someone else having fun.

borax or boric acid ... mixed with sugar water or jelly ... will kill far more ants than you'll ever see. It kills slowly and they take it back to the nest.
