G'day Guys,
Does anyone know of any smaller suppliers who are well priced with protective gear, smokers etc?
-
Best price I've seen locally has been Bob's.
-
Yeah, that's what i'm finding... i got most of my protective gear from a guy in geelong but his prices have gone through the roof in comparison to what i paid

Bobs Beekeeping supplies in Eltham. His web page is good for prices and lots of info also. Very helpful, very competitive prices, very genuine amd great to explore ideas about what you really need rather than what we all think we need. He will be at Marong Field Day in October with a stand. Redpaths and a few other retailers will also be there.

I paid about %50 less than local stores getting my suit from ebay, a Lithuanian supplier...awesome quality and fast delivery.
Another ebayer has a beekeepers starter kit including extractor for 300. It will be limited quality, but still worth checking it out.

My Vote is for Bobs Beekeeping supplies great to deal with and well priced.

Unfortunately he is in the same boat as the other suppliers around Melbourne at the moment. Out of stock on a lot of stuff and having trouble getting more.

Spring is in the air and so are swarms. Us budding beekeepers are certainly busy this time of year. maybe next year some work over winter will reduce our need for equipment in spring.

That was my intention, but when I went to redpath's in late Autumn I was told that they were out of stock and wouldn't get any in until July at the earliest.
