Awesome weekend at Bud 5
« on: April 14, 2013, 01:29:34 pm »
Wow what a weekend. Today is Sunday and unfortunately the weather turned to rain and gusty winds cutting our weekend activities short. But considering a tornado  and heavy rain moved through on Thursday knocking down trees and power being out the turnout was spectacular.
A bunch of us gathered Friday and got acquainted with one another. And then off to supper at the local restaurant where I think we may have overwhelmed them. We showed up with probably a group of 30 or so.
Yesterday we started out with an great breakfast from Scott and Peggy while waiting for things to warm up and bees to get active.
Throughout the day they did cutouts from nuc boxes, demonstrated doing splits and did a cutout from an outhouse. Then for lunch Schawee prepared a deer piquant which was awesome.  Then for supper we had Baileys jambalaya with sausage rabbit and alligator. and shrimp and crab alfredo.

Here is a listing of people that came, and If I missed anyone let me know.
Bud
Mary Beth (Clyde) and sprout
JP and Liz
Schawee
Ziffabeek and Hippie Beek
Scott (Hardwood) and Peg
JM Blakeny
Fireguy (Travis)
PDMattox(Dallas) ,Austin David and Emma
Nate
Emil ( Monkeyman)
Alan Buckley
JoeD and Linda
Bailey
Moots and Charlene and nephew Easton
Plan B (Marshall) and Kelly
VMMartin(Mike)
Bobby
Tony Hutchins
Tommy Hutchins
Bailey
Brian and Tammy Muldrow(BT Muldrow)
CDRay and JC Small
KathyP
Edgar and 2 friends, I didn't catch their names.
And of course me(Buzzbee) ,Ma Buzzbee(Jen) and Buzzbee jr(Josh)

If I missed anyone let me know. And it was my pleasure to meet you all.

Going back up I-85, you will be within 12 mile of my house. Wanna stop for a meal. I'll buy.

For those that couldn't make it, sorry, you missed a great time.  The food at the restraunt Friday nite, the meals that Schawee fixed for lunch and the supper that Baily fixed on Saturday were all great, as well as breakfast Sunday morning at Bud's.  You should start planning to attend next year.  Lots of fellowship with all and learning too.  Great time to be had by all

One of the best weeks/weekends I've had.  Thanks to all for the fellowship and a great time.  I wish safe travels home for everyone, too bad Sunday rained out, but we had a blast on Saturday.  Until next year.

Looking at the pictures it looks like everyone was either smiling big, concentrating on what was going on, or...goth.  :-D

Looks like it was a great gathering!!!!   :)

Buzzbee,
Thanks for the recap, couldn't agree more, it was a great time and wonderful to meet everyone.  Thanks to everyone for sharing their pics, I was so into enjoying every moment that I never even took my camera out.  Just like everyone else, I was disappointed that the rain moved in on us Sunday, but after the beautiful day we had Saturday, itls tough to complain.

Also a huge thanks to Bud for hosting as well as Schawee, Bailey and everyone else who played a role in  making sure everyone was so well fed.

To Ken and all:

I kept trying to figure out a way to get to Bud5, between our manpower at work being short and with NO over-time allowed, no one could get any time off. My surgery has been delayed into June, that wasn't an issue as much as my poor wife's health issues - in the last year she has gone down to 30% of lung capacity and is COPD along with stage 4 renal failure, I'm always afraid to leave here alone - although I don't doubt she's getting tired of seeing me - lol.

My shoulder has the Doctor a bit preplexed, I literally just came back an hour ago from his office where I started knee injections of Efflexa (a lubricant that stays in place about 6 months giving great releif to wornout knees) and he tested my arm strength again and I show good strength concidering the main shoulder muscle is severed, so he is leaning that it might be neurological, likely a spawn from the Lymes disease that nearly killed me as it attacked my brain, spinal coed and turned into mastoiditis a skull infection that needed 3 months of daily antibiotic injections to defeat. Although I am lacking strength and motor control in my torn arm, he is debating how much good the surgery itself may do. I'll keep you all informed as I learn more. But if he thinks rotator cuff repair which is a long recovery procedure won't make much difference in my arm, then obviously I won't be having the surgery and have to live with limited use of my predominate arm - ugh.

Glad such a good turn out at Bud5 and it's a shame Sunday especially didn't cooperate at all, but it sounds like another great Bud event! I bet the restaurant didn't see that gang coming, and surprised they didn't have someone run to the supermarket to restock, but I'll bet they marked their calendar, it might be their version of Black Friday - heehee.

To all who made it, or tried to - thanks for making our annual event another hit, I sure hope next year to be there with all of you as we also celebrate our 10th year as a forum together!!!

Was looking forward to going but being forced to a no pay vacation week and then losing another week of work this week due to cancellations the money spent at home is more important. :( Was able to do a removal and catch a swarm this weekend even tho I was thinking about you guys. Next year I will put some extra money in the kiddy to get there. Glad you all had fun!  :)

I had a ball.  Thanks to bud!!!!!
Was wonderful seeing all the old folks and i sure enjoyed meeting all the new people as well.
Too long in between and too short while we're there.
Felt like a family reunion with family that I get along with.

Thanks to all that came and made it as good as it was.
