Cold war history
« on: February 05, 2016, 12:49:38 pm »
I went OT on another thread....but I am reading a book that cold war history buffs might enjoy.  I think it's out of print, but I found it used online.

It is Red Horizons and it is about the Ceausecscu regime of Romania in the 1980s.  It's fascinating and a part of that history that I did not know.

It's written by Lt General Ion Mihai Pacepa who was the head of Romanian intel at that time.

My OT comments had to do with Iraq and there is some of the history of the actions of Iraq during that period, although that is not the subject of the book.

Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.
