Title: Pollination services
Post by: Orlando on April 06, 2013, 04:42:32 pm
Im wondering what pollination.services would typically go for. Is there a small market available to the backyard beekeeper and where would you begin with pricing?

If you have enough bees to pollinate commercial crops (even small farms) pricing runs anywhere from $35-$200 per hive depending on the crop. Here in FL most pollination goes for $45-$65. If a home owner just wants a hive or two to pollinate his fruit trees or garden you'd have to work out what it is worth to you.

Scott,
when pollinating mono crops like melons or cucumbers and such, does your hives backfill with pollen? I know it happens around here on pumpkins.
