Howdy,
I had a man bring me several swarm cells to put in my incubator to care for them for later use.
8 out of 12 emerged and are doing fine BUT!
After 12 days I decided to open the remaining cells to see if the Queens were dead.
There was one capped cell that was normal length but was slightly larger in diameter.
When I opened it there was a fully developed Queen but she was head first down in the cell.
Now comes the weird part!
She had white paint on her Thorax!
It was the Queen I marked for him last year.
I have never seen this happen before.
I'm going to try and put on a couple of pictures.

Jeeze, That wasn't a very good place to hide from the virgin. Shoulda just swarmed.
