Title: Apivar Strips

Can you, more experienced beekeepers, tell me the advantages and disadvantages of apivar strips as compared to other August treatments? All views appreciated.

#1 advantage. Set and forget. Easy for anyone and everyone to use. No regimen.
#1 disadvantage.  None.

Apivar is most effective treatment providing you didn't get your bees from pollinators surplus which have higher resistance.
Use for at least 8 weeks up to 10 weeks.
Move strips around every 2 3 weeks.
Use a nail to hang them straight on comb.

I was part of a test last year and we evaluated all treatments and without a doubt oxalic and apical were the best in all considerations.

We found treating in spring is of utmost importance.
Waiting till August is not advised.

Do not go light on strips.
Its basically a 12 dollar treatment. But you will have bees in April if you don't starve em.
