Title: Can't send mail in outlook 2003
Post by: buzzbee on July 29, 2006, 12:50:27 pm
At work we can receive e-mail but every time we try to send it goes to the outbox without being sent. We tried moving the items to another box but it still won't send. The outgoing mail needs authentication and that box is checked in the preferences. Can any one steer me in the right direction? thanks in advance!!

I had a similar problem w/ Windows Live Mail Beta, I would send a message but it would not go through.  It would be listed in my Outbox but would not reach the recipient.  It turned out to be my Internet connection. Slim chance but it wouldn't hurt to check.

1. Authentication codes (user, pass) are not correct or valid (maybe expired)
2. Your smtp settings (mail.foo.com) are not correct.
3. You have a firewall blocking port 25.
