Drone fishing

Has anyone been drone fishing? Im interested in finding the drone congregation area or areas near me. Does anyone know how far a queen will fly on her nuptial flight?

I have watched it done.  The picture in Larry Connor's book is from that occasion.  Typically a queen flies about a mile or two.  Sometimes she flies as far as seven miles.  Sometimes she mates in the sky above her hive.  Bees do what they have to do...

The type of site you're looking for is typically a flat area of land (cricket pitch, car park, open field, that kind of thing) adjacent to tall 'spiky' objects (relative to the immediate topogrpahy), such as poplar trees, church steeples, wind turbines, and so forth.

Drones tend to follow tree rows and power line cuts and roads (probably because roads often have tree rows) and the intersection of two of those where there is an open field is a likely place.
