I just looked up the formula for pounds per square foot.
It is:
.00256x(wind speed in mph)squared.
That means
25 mph puts 1.6 pounds per square foot.
50 mph puts 6.4 pounds per square foot.
100 mph puts 25.2 pounds per square foot.
200 mph puts 102.4 pounds per square foot.
On the front side of a house that is 8 foot tall by 75 feet long, that is:
960 pounds of pressure at 25 miles per hour.
3,840 pounds of pressure at 50 miles per hour.
15,360 pounds of pressure at 100 miles per hour.
And
61,440 pounds of pressure at 200 miles per hour.
That is over 30 tons of force trying to knock your house over.
If that was a 2 story home, it would bee more than double that.

Democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.

Very good information Jim.      Goodness...
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Amazing.
I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.
