Queen! From a split I made almost a month ago

Shes from a russian hive, but who knows what kind of genetics she has now, hopefully a feral hive thats survived a few years with no problems!

She's sure a beauty!  Looks like she has been very busy also! Next year I want to do a split & raise my own queen.  Was going to try this year but almost killed my bees being a nubee :oops:  Now they have to build build build to make enough bees to make enough honey to get em thru the winter.  Good thing the blackberries are late this summer! In the picture she looks like she's bending, so I don't think I can get a good size estimate from the picture.  She looks fine.

She may be a little small yet, since I assume you let them start raising their own queen 4 weeks ago, she's just getting going.  I find that queens not laying full blast are smaller (and she wouldn't be up to her full potentional if it was a 3 or 4 frame split).  Emergency queens can be smaller too, but I judge a queen by her laying and pattern, not by size.
