My first bees. You may be able to see a varroa mite (circled yellow ) on one of the bees on the left toward the top. YUCK!!

Eileen, welcome to our forum. You can't post pictures yet, you have to have a certain number before you are allowed. This is a security measure so we don't have bad stuff coming into the forum. They have to know you just a tiny, teeeny, bit first. You can post the picture to one of the moderators and they can upload it to our forum so we can have a look. We would love to see your bees. papabear..........handsome looking crew. Spend lots of time with them now, they will be the ones to decide when and which nursing home that you will be put into.

When my son was a teen and I would be getting on his case, smiling, he would say " let me look into my crystal ball. I see an old fat bald headed man, waiting at the nursing home for his only son to visit.....now WHAT was that you were saying? You want me to do WHAT?"

Papabear. The boys are now about 1-1/2 years older (the date on picture). I bet they are your beekeeping buddies, yeah!!! What a couple of great looking little dudes. Children are our pride and joy, yeah!!!!

It is so wonderful that I see more forum members are putting their pictures of themselves and their families on our forum. I don't think there is anything more nice than putting a face to these cyber humans that we correspond with on our forum. I love it!!!!

I modeled those covers after the garden top type. They do in fact have extra space in the top, and pure copper sheathing. If I can, I will show pictures of how they are assembled. One thing, they won't blow off in the wind unless its a tornado, and in Missouri that's possible. :-D
