SCARY STORIES
« on: October 29, 2021, 02:08:16 pm »
Hi Folks,

I have a somewhat familiarity with alcoholism, mental illness, death, near death and crippling. Not mine, other's. I was merely an involved observer and passenger on that train.

This is a particularly scary story for me. Listen late at night. Fourty-five minutes.

Ooh, The Black Cat is classic Poe.  :cool:
I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.

Hi Folks,

A poem about a kid and his drunk father.

Happy or scary?

The whiskey on your breath
Could make a small boy dizzy;
But I hung on like death:
Such waltzing was not easy.

We romped until the pans
Slid from the kitchen shelf;
My mother's countenance
Could not unfrown itself.

The hand that held my wrist
Was battered on one knuckle;
At every step you missed
My right ear scraped a buckle.

You beat time on my head
With a palm caked hard by dirt,
Then waltzed me off to bed
Still clinging to your shirt.

Some of us may have been there.
