Want to try this someday

How much beekeeping experience would I need before trying a full body bee beard? If I understood the Portuguese narration, the woman was a university student in the video

No experience at all if you have a well trained beekeeper setting you up and applying the bees, It's the prepper that needs the experience.

There is the logistics of how to pull it off, but as iddee says, that's more a matter of the person who does that.  The person with the bees on them just has to be able to not panic and be able to hold the weight of the bees.  Bees are heavy.  Every package they put on him is about 3 pounds.  You need some experience with bees on you and around you before you do this.  Panic can get you killed.

I also recommend that you wait until you have been working bees long enough that you no longer swell up from bee stings and don?t over react to stings. Use Benadryl cream and hydrocortisone cream every time you get stung until you no longer have a reaction to stings other than pain at the site. Robo, our it specialist has done this at one of the early Bud meetings. Search the Bud, Bud2 and Bud3 meetings.

Two aspirations in life that are not mine 1) Seeing a bear in the wild (unless I'm hunting it) and 2) To bee covered in a blanket of bees.

I'd do a bee beard/blanket if the opportunity presented itself, but I'm not bending over backwards for it.  My reactions to stings are still a little too unpredictable anyway.  But I totally want to see a black bear in the wild.  We have lots of black bears around here, and I swear everyone has seen one but us!  Residents have all seen one, tourists have all seen one, but not me!   I mean, I don't want really want to see one on my property, because that would make me nervous for my bees, but I would like to see one in the national park!

By the way, welcome to Beemaster, rukuzune!

Your post reminded me of Van from Arkansas post concerning his bear attack on his bees.

You're a beekeeper.  You do not want to see a bear.  Seeing a bear is one of the worst omens.

If I want to see a bear or a croc or anything else that's above me on the food chain, I'll go to the zoo.

How do you get used to having many bees on you at once? In the video she looks serene even with a lot more bees than a typical bee beard

Serenity is important whether you have 1 bee on you, 10 bees on you, or 10,000 bees on you.  Being strong, calm, and emotionally neutral is very important when you are working in close contact with any animal, be it bees, dogs, tigers, horses, snakes, rabbits, giraffes, or whales.  It's even important when working in close contact with people.  Body language and energy are universal languages.

Yes I mean how do people get used to having so many bees on them that they can be so relaxed with a full body bee beard?

Well, if you are someone who is naturally nervous around bees, you have to work up to it.  And even if you don't think you'll be nervous, you probably shouldn't do a full body bee beard as your first experience with bees!   Tag along with a beekeeper who is inspecting bees.  Once you are comfortable and, if the beekeeper allows it, tag along without any protection other than a veil.  Do just a bee beard before you do a whole body bee blanket.  Maybe get a colony of bees of your own, so you have some experience reading bees' body language and energy, so you know how to move and act around bees, and so you understand how your body reacts to stings.  You have to move at whatever pace makes you feel comfortable, and only do what you are comfortable doing, because the bees will only be calm if you are calm.

Welcome to Beemaster rukuzune.
Honest question, do you have interest in honeybees? Or is your interest limited the purpose that is being discussed? It would seem to me that you would first have an interest in honeybees first and foremost, then things like bee bearding might come later? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sort of both. I saw that video and thought that sounds like a cool experience to try one of these days but also I find bees fascinating so I sorta want to see what beekeeping is like too
