Here is a bit of an update on the wicking beds. In the 3 1/2 weeks since planting out lettuce and beetroot, the weather has been unkind. Hot days followed by cold days and cool nights haven?t been conducive to good plant growth. The gardens no longer get watered from above as plant root systems are now established and the wicking process is now working. Lost a few lettuce after transplanting them due to some hot weather but things are just now starting to move along a bit. Hopefully weather from now on will be a bit more stable.
