Hi John,

It appears Yahoo maps has changed their services.  I will need to look into this when I get a chance.  Nothing you did wrong.

Any update on the problem resolution with the map info

john

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to look into it yet.

Ok John,

I took a look at it and it seems the Yahoo maps Geocoding API that I was using has been deprecated.     I switched to the new API and it seems to be working  although I have not had a chance to do too much testing.

Go ahead and try it and let me know if you have any issues.

New comer here.  I looked at the map and found I am in the middle of a large blank space.  SW Florida.  One other fellow listed close but no posts since last Sept.  Bee glad when I can get my location posted.
I have collected a swarm and moved two colonies from wild hives to Top Bar hives so far this month.
Regards
Joe

Thanks for all the posts in this section.
Here in Southern Arizona, there is seldom a week that goes by without a call to remove a feral hive or a swarm.
Experience has shown that queens can be reared an successfully mated during every month of the year.
With year-round availability of pollen (in most years) it seems the bees will keep propagating, whether managed or feral.
Anybody have a recommendation for an effective, non-harmful fumigant (odorant) for use in conjunction with standard trap-out techniques?
Thanks,

Quick question... I'm on the map - however - it's for my old location.  I've moved, and have submitted the new address on the form, but I'm guessing that there is some human interaction in the approval/update process.

Would like to have my address listed on my info (text information) be where the map shows that I am located.

Thanks for the app!!!

Rex S.

Ya, it seems that the yahoo API is broke again, so it is back to me having to manually translate an address to Lat/Long everytime an update is submitted.   You should be set now.

checked out the map and noticed I am not showing up and find out about the 30 post rule. darn, I am nowhere near the 30 mark and I've been a member here for some time. Guess I'll have to make a lot of blah-blah-blah posts (which I have always avoided because I hate those).

I like that idea of posting where the swarms were and how it all went down.  I bet after a few years if not sooner we would see patterns in the bee colonies.  I think that swarm catching is the greatest thing ever right now.  But I am also interested in queen rearing!! I second that idea of swarm maping.

Actually, I'm liking the idea of a swarm/feral removal map, also. -james

I added my info a few months ago, how often is this updated?  I know one of the people listed in my area (KC, MO) has moved to upstate NY a year ago and I'm hoping to get added by the time Spring hits.  Is there something else I need to do?  I'm a little embarassed about looking pushy with this post, so please take it with a grain of salt.

I just checked the database and there is no record of a submission for you. You should have gotten a couple of verification emails.  One that said it was submitted, and a second when it gets approved.   It usually takes less than a day, sometimes a couple of days, depending on how busy I am.

I don't recall ever getting a verification email, either. -js

I just added my info and then later found the posts about the qualifications to be shown on the map. I guess I had better quit reading and trying to soak up info like a sponge and converse with fellow beeks.
Thanks to everyone for all the great info and videos. :-D

How do I change my info if I have not shown up on the map yet, because of low posts (new).

Can you do another map based on the swarms thread?  It would be fascinating to see the locations of where swarms were collected.

Perhaps an automatic aging off the map of six months. Thus the map should be mostly bare in December. And then color code them by age of the swarm report. Then we can see what areas are swarming. May be a localized thing based upon weather and flora, but interesting none-the-less...
