I don't have a television any more, but I like to see what films are on, then I can acquire a copy if something new or interesting turns up. This week Cutthroat Island is showing on terrestrial, so I got me a copy.
Verdict: If you've seen any of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, then it does come across as being a bit anaemic in comparison, but I guess it's not bad really - just not sensational. It's featured in the Guinness Book of Records as being the biggest Box Office flop of all time - guess they must have hyped it up too much.
One thing did bug me though, Geena Davis (Captain Morgan Adams) has such perfect 'American' teeth - not something one would have expected to see in 1660's Jamaica. I couldn't help but keep staring at them !
Worth watching ? Well, I can think of far worse ways of whiling away a couple of hours.
