I enjoyed Avatar.  I would have enjoyed it more if there were actually at least one surprise in it... I saw everything coming a mile away.

This is why I mentioned Battle For Terra (below is the trailer) Avatar was NOT original in any manner... Just thought you might have missed my first post here, if so - go to page one of the post for more detail/opinion

I enjoyed it. We rented it after release so no 3D but we did watch it several times. I don't think it lived up to the hype, but thought it was still entertaining.

Scott
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I watched Battle for Terra last night on Netflix.   Wife wanted the 4 year old to watch it today.  (he loves Avatar)   We were watching it with him and at the end, he asked us what was the bubble thing the astronauts were building in.   And we explained that was were they could live on that planet.   He then said "why didn't they do that to start with?"
