Howdy from Frederick, Md.   I've been thinking about beekeeping for a number of years and my good wife surprised me for Christmas by signing me up for a class with the Frederick County Beekeepers Association.  We've had one class and now I am excited!   Obsession is setting in ... I've been trying to absorb as much as I can and am looking forward to ordering my bees and getting ready for the spring!

Hiya! It's a fun hobby. I am in my first winter myself. Lots to learn and lots of good help here on the forum.

Welcome!

Thanks for that!   I didn't realize how early you needed to order.   Just checked with one of our local suppliers (HT Krantz) and put a NUC on order.   I would like to put two on order, but I was wondering if there was any value in doing one as a NUC and one as a package.  My thought was just so I could learn both processes ... but I hesitated when I saw on the web page that the package is a bit more difficult for beginners.    Though I am sure I can probably have one of the more seasoned beekeeprs in the club guide me a long a bit.
