This is a strange article. When I first read it, I thought the writer sounded like a major ignoramus. How could you keep bees and not ever hear of mites? What beekeeper would say that mites can kill colony in a single day? How can you restock 12 colonies "the next day" in early March in upstate NY? Since when do queens expend energy enlarging cells so they can lay drone eggs?
So I googled the author. Turns out she's President of the Catskill Mountain Beekeeper's Club, and teaches beekeeping classes!
It doesn't add up...

indypartridge. Yes, rather strange. The woman has a great way of writing though, some good skills there. Have a wonderful day, beautiful life. Cindi

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold. The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold. The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee. Robert Service
