Hello from sunny Salt Lake City!
« on: July 28, 2011, 10:37:30 pm »
This is my first year beekeeping.  I have a small urban yard in Salt Lake City and I introduced a package of Italians into a Langstroth hive on April 16.  I am interested in organic/sustainable practices.

So far bees & beekeepers are entertaining & beekeeping a bit mysterious.  I am slowly discovering local beekeepers & various associations, forums, books -- it's almost overwhelming but still fun.  If I am in your area, please invite me to visit your bees!

I've decided the “traditional” Langstroth hive is not for me so I'm exploring hive options before I get into too much more trouble.  I can't believe I jumped into this knowing so little.

Ah, well, I'm here!

Oh, I don't know...I've spent a fair bit of time hopelessly lost myself.

HI Susan!
