Bonus Queen!!
Ha ha went robbing honey frames yesterday and found an extra queen.
One of my hives was queenless a short while back and i introduced a mated marked queen about a month ago.
I went into the super (above the queen excluder) to find it full of capped brood, eggs etc? Went searching wondering how "she" got up there and i found an unmarked queen?
Went through the box below the excluder: brood at all stages and the marked queen...two queens; one below the excluder and one above it in a 2 deep hive.
Figured the one up must have just mated before i introduced the new one. I was probably a bit careless with the excluder as i thought the hive was "queensess" and she snuck up there.
She is now in a nuc. Could of done a split but im low on hardware. ...Need more gear.
End game, i managed to get a big bucket of honey. What was a weak hive is now booming and i found a bonus queen....happy days!

Bee North.
Congratulations.
My observation hive has 2 queens laying side by side. One queen is marked green and one is not.
They are mother daughter.
