Is there any such thing as bad honey?

I don't remember having what I consider to be flat out bad tasting honey, but I admit I have tasted some that I much less preferred than others: Personally I like the lighter colored honey. Most offer the sweeter, light taste that I prefer.  Clover is one of those. Some have revealed in other discussions that they prefer the darker honey.

I am a dark honey fan

Clover is blooming but I don?t see any bees on it. Too many other good flows going on.

Swarm # 9, 10, 11, 12 today. # 9 had left, caught # 10, 11, 12.

Well, I've actually seen at least one male and one female bobwhite that made it through the winter and I can hear more.  Maybe I've succeeded in getting them reestablished.  I'll be more convinced if they make it to next spring.

Dandelions are starting to bloom.  The clover isn't blooming yet, but it's coming up and so is the wild mustard.  They will be blooming soon.

Typically 38 days from the time the egg is laid until drones are flying to DCAs.  Just because they emerge doesn't mean they are mature.

Drones take longer to develop than workers, 24 days instead of 21, so they just haven't hatched yet.  I would assume they should be able to find the top entrance once they are of flying age.  Drones act pretty dumb sometimes, I'd be surprised if they couldn't figure it out.

OK, I went out and went through the hive. There is no shortage of space and she's laying in both brood boxes. Above the QE, where I found brood last time, there is a good bit of capped drone. I do have an upper entrance on the hive but they don't seem to be using it. Would the drones find it on their own? All told, I'd say there's about 50 capped drone cells.

I once caught a swarm inside my shop where I had my own used bee equipment stored . I suppose the smell of all the good stuff (that bees produce) throughout the used equipment, was more than they could stay away from, therefore finding a passageway into the closed shop and into the stacked up equipment.
I was pleasantly surprised, and even more so, to find a >marked green< queen.

With bees you never know. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😁
