Just for fun I looked up the Lakota, i.e. (proper name of the Sioux Nation People),  name for Buffalo. It is neither Buffalo or bison; but Tatanka. 😊 I like the sound of that.

Member, Your meal of Lemon chicken, with homegrown baby potatoes, the obligatory squash dish, and your sister's favorite noodles looked really good!

I?ve been on the road, so it been restaurants and gas stations.

I usually keep a few tins of sardines and/or kippers in my door pocket for when I get hangry. I like kippers better. They are smokey.

Hi Folks,

Hey .30, 15! This looks like it  could come in handy. I think it's more of a *man thing* though.

WOW.   I'm hung up on "I love it and I have a broken hand".   :cheesy:

I have to admit, I was a little afraid to open the link considering the source. You can never be too sure about sal.

Sounds like a good home cooked meal after you being on the road.  We just had BLTs with our garden tomatoes last night.

Lunch today.

Ok. Time to clean it up. Elk season is approaching, which means this thread might get a little boring.

Cream spinach over salmon and a greens salad with feta stuffed olives, sun-dried tomatoes, nuts and seeds, and egg.

Started a batch of purple eggs. These were a favorite as a kid.
Great with a dab of Mayo.

Two pounds pronghorn antelope, one pound sausage. A whole head of garlic, and why in the world isn?t there an onion in my house? There should be an onion.

Fresh Thai Basil

Fennel, sugar, basil, dried oregano, dried parsley

Red wine and tomato paste blended, then the crushed tomatoes and a small can of tomato sauce.

Simm?a down now.

Wow, that is some lunch!  Especially compared with the hot dog and crackers I see across the table!   :cheesy:

Oh I remember red beet eggs from my childhood too.  I never ate them, but they were always around.

Yep, that antelope.

Hahahaha!  Oh, I'm dying over here, that it really funny!  Where did you shoot a pronghorn?  Not around here I'd imagine.  What's the meat like?

Just spaghetti and meatballs for us tonight, although we did have some of our first homemade butter for our bread.  It's so good, so much sweeter and creamier than store bought.

You missed the best part. The flour tortillas. Hotdogs wrapped in tortillas with crackers dipped in ketchup. Whatever, they ate it.
I had leftovers from last nite.

The antelope was from last year in Wyoming. Maybe one day we will have them around here. JK.

15th, I overlooked, ? Whats the meat like??

Its lean and more like goat. It does taste like what I relate to the sage like smell that they have when you are up close to one. It is often prepared in heavily spiced or seasoned dishes.

I did a taste test last year with potstickers, which are very seasoned. I made whitetail potstickers and antelope potstickers the same nite. I ate the antelope ones first, and they were delicious. Then I started in on the whitetail ones. They were delicious as well, and no change in flavor detected. Then I switched back to the antelope and they were still good, but I noticed the strong sage like musk flavor. Still good, knowing what it is. Then back to the venison and noticed the lack of said taste.

The next morning for breakfast I did the same routine on a smaller scale with the same results.

It is a thing that with heavy seasoning, the sage like flavor blends into the surrounding spices as if it is a spice or herb itself, until compared directly with a different meat.

I?ve not done anything simple such as a burger, since it can be a little overpowering to those timid about game meat.
