I was in Oil n Gas and the last 15 yrs of my career had me in Australia, Africa, and China.
There was a point my office was flying me back to Houston every few weeks.
The long flights and jet lag were killing me so I started staying here in 2006 and was able to convince the company that almost everything I was doing in Houston could be done in tele conference.
Plus it saved them 14,000 dollars atrip, they flew me Business Class.
I retired May 2015, best thing I ever did.
I am also a licensed ship Captain and used to run Tugboats in Boston Harbor on weekends, I prefer to be on the water, but Oil n Gas pays about 5 X more.
