Title: Logging in
Post by: Gerald in Ga on May 10, 2008, 10:03:14 am
Howdy,
I typed my user name in and forgot to type my pass word and hit enter. I got logged on anyway. Just letting you know.

If you had originally logged in and clicked the remember me box, perhaps you didn't need to type in your password this go round.

Howdy,
I have to log in every time I get on. It says "Guest". I have checked remember me forever, but I still have to log in.

I just clicked out of your web site and came back to it to see what happened and it said "guest" again. I didn't sign my username or password, I just hit log in with the blank sign in boxes. I got in.

I have noticed that the first screen I go to when I click on the forum will act as if I need to log in.  Then when I pick a category within the forum I am logged in.

Everytime I access the site since the change over it says I'm a guest. I click on the send activation letter and then I am logged in. I've cleared the cache, my passwords, and temporary internet files on my computer all to no avail. Oh well for now it's only a minor inconvenience...  ;)

DaveKow  you are right also. I brought up the site today and as usual was greeted by the welcome guest routine. I ignored it this time and clicked on a forum and was instantly recognized and logged in. Looks like there may be a small snippet of code out of place somewhere.

Same here, I ignore the request to login also.

Are you all using http://forum.beemaster.com for your bookmark?   Please check the actual bookmark URL, and not what the browser says in the URL bar once you click on it as you may have an old URL that is being redirected.

If in doubt,  please leave the site and then re-enter by manually typing http://forum.beemaster.com

Please let me know if this works.

It is definitely a cookies issue and most likely on the PC end because it does know who you are and only lets you into your account.  Lets see if we can figure this out.

For what it's worth yesterday my log in worked normaly, before that I was greeted as a guest. I log in through Beemaster.com and then click the link on the main page for the forums. Today when I logged in everything was working normaly and I have made no changes. Don't you just love looking at all those lines of code and doing all that cussing when someting like this happens?

About logging in - read what Robo says above, but all the links to the forum should now point to http://forum.beemaster.com - if you have an old bookmark to the old addy (forum was at the end of that link, not the beginning) if anyone comes in under THAT address will always have to log in. So if you are connecting and AUTOLOGIN if you have it checked, then you are pointing to the right address.

The reason the www.beemaster.com link to the forum was leading you to the wrong page address, Robo changed those links Monday to the new address.

You should have no problems now. Have fun in the forums.

Beemaster :)
