Hello Everyone!

I am doing a little study to explore a possible correlation between mental health or general wellbeing and beekeeping. It being conducted through an anonymous survey on Google Forms here https://forms.gle/ynx6SqwcKEfEBF2K6

The correlation will be determined by comparing responses from beekeepers to responses of the general population. I am doing this to kick off my data analytics portfolio after a surprise career change a few months ago. After being laid off my wife and I have been spending a lot of time understanding how we can become more self reliant. Her dad keeps bees, and I greatly enjoy helping him when he lets me. We see beekeeping as a tremendous opportunity to be more self sustaining, and in helping my father-in-law, or just visiting his hives I have noticed some impact on my own mental health. I thought this would be an interesting and unique idea to explore as a part of my data analytics portfolio to help kick off my new career.

The survey is completely anonymous. Results will be published under MIT or similar license on Kaggle.com as well as my own portfolio so that the data is freely available to anyone.

I am trying to get up to 100 respondents, and I am up to 73 responses so far!

I would love to discuss anything about the project, or topics related to beekeeping and mental health.

Thanks everyone!

I clicked thru, but since my browser is logged into other Google pages, it logs me non-anonymously. Some of your questions are HiPPA questions so I would be happy to participate anonymously. Try another form?

Beekeeping is a great context to analyze data. In fact based on a recent conference I would say we need the help, especially in the arena of graphic presentation.  If you contact your local club, almost certainly someone there will have a set of hive scales and would send you a csv, which you could cross-reference with whatever variables yiu like (suggest weather related but who k ows), also the annual BIP survey I think you can get raw data. If yiu have a specific interest, suggest searching scholar.google.com  for studies around that interest, then contact the author for a data dump.

Have fun!

Is the easy part. But then remember my password to log back in? Oh no I will have to answer all the questions and have my 2FA phone available and... the anxiety!  I will need a bee visit to recover!   ,)

A good password keeper and generator pays for itself.
I never use the same browser for Google searches and general web browsing, but that's just me.

Google is on my list along with Walmart and Amazon. Unfortunately, I have to use Amazon on occasion but the other two, I am able to avoid like the plague.
