Moving Layens hives

(1/2) > >>

Bob Wilson:
I've never had Langstroth hives, but I imagine there are hurdles to overcome moving them right after the honey flow.
I moved these Layens about 6 miles by screwing poles under the lid rests and using a four man team to carry them Ark of the Covenant style.
It worked perfectly. We are all living the country life now

Ben Framed:
Congratulations on your new home Bob!

Congrats, Bob!  What sorts of plans do you have now that you are free of the HOA?

BeeMaster2:
Congratulations Bob. Is it a farm with an acreage?

Bob Wilson:
I am still in the area, just out of the city with 3.5 acres in the county. (No HOA. lol 15).
All my children are married and I downsized house & increase land.
I am already working towards expanding. At least 8 Layens hives.
If I add in Layens nucs I need to keep on hand, and the Langstroth nucs I make for sale, I imagine I will have 20 or so colonies each spring.
