Title: chick feeding time
Post by: AllenF on April 17, 2010, 07:25:24 pm
Question, is it ok to feed old bread to Easter chicks?   I have a unopened bag of bread with green mold started on it.  Normally I would throw the entire loaf in the pen with the hens but we lost all the hens a year ago and are starting over for the sake of my 3 year old son.  They are on starter feed and was just wondering about the bread.

The reason people all over the world keep chickens is that they convert garbage into meat and eggs.   You can feed literally anything to a chicken that they can get down their throat.  If they can't, you can grind it up.  :)  I would feed them the bread.
